NISON plan to undertake a period of consultation with clerical staff throughout Scottish Enterprise.
We want to know what do clerical staff feel about Scottish Enterprise's two tier system of holiday entitlement which means clerical staff get 5 less day a year that most other staff in the Enterprise Network.
We spoke to a clerical member of staff who asked to remain anonymous, she said
"Obviously for me it's an issue, I think I work as hard as the rest of them, don't get as many perks (leased car, free parking etc etc.) get paid the least and I think that we should all get the same. I think it creates a feeling of inequality, like we're not as important as the executives, but then every admin person knows the executive would be lost without us, we're the ones that do the donkey work - the work that needs to be done to ensure the execs do their job!"

Also UNISON is concerned about this double edged injustice for most clerical staff , that you have to stay in the clerical post for 10 years to get the full 30 days Annual Leave.
What if you have a career break or move on to an other position in the enterprise? Just how many clerical staff actually reach 10 years service and receive the holidays that their colleagues have been enjoying for the last 10 years?
Matt McLaughlin UNISON Regional Officer Stated "Equality in the workplace is priority for this trade union, UNISON will thoroughly examine the legal implication for staff and will be advising our members of any action UNISON would be willing to take on their behalf"
