SCOTTISH LOCAL GOVERNMENT PAY CLAIM.

The Scottish Local Government Committee at its meeting held on the 6th October, 2005 received and considered a report of the branch pay consultation exercise on the size, shape, content and length of settlement on the 2006 pay claim.

The Committee AGREED:~

That UNISON's position would be that in order to allow for a degree of flexibility in discussion on the formulation of a Trade Union side claim at the Special Meeting of the Trade Union side of the Scottish Joint Council (SJC) to be held on the 13th October, the claim should have the following parameters:~

  • A settlement effective from 1st April, 2006 to 31st March 2008.

  • A claim that accommodates a percentage and/or a fixed sum applicable to all Spinal Column Points. (This may include the term "whichever is the greater" if a mix is applied to each year).

  • A revision of the minimum rate.

More details will follow.
