UNISON Scotland
Scottish Enterprise Careers & Development Branch

About us...

UNISON Scottish Enterprise Careers and Development Branch was created in April 2002 with the creation and alignment of Careers Scotland with Scottish Enterprise.

The branch also includes other agencies such as Learning Teaching Scotland and various development agencies such as Glasgow North Ltd and Greater Pollok Development Agency.

Current branch membership stands at roughly 1300+ with the majority of the membership predominantly within the Scottish Enterprise network. The creation of the new branch produced many challenges including the recruitment of many new members. The branch's hard work in this area was recognised by UNISON nationally, when we received the Commended award in 2002 in the Organisation and Recruitment Awards programme.

The branch has also gained many benefits for its members including a ground breaking affiliation to the Local Government Pension scheme for its members following the creation of Careers Scotland and the TUPE transfer of some 1300 staff to Scottish Enterprise.
