The Scottish
Communications & Campaigns Committee, along with Regional Delegates
Mike and Mary, will issue daily briefings at Conference.
This is not a ‘News'
service after the event (after all you were there), it is for
briefing delegates before the debates. That is not as easy as
it looks since we often don't know when the debate will be coming
up!
But the service is
also there to be used by branches if there are urgent issues
back home.
Although not a news
service, we will be looking to build on last year's experience
with two initiatives:
- reports on the
main debates for use in local magazines on your return
- reports and briefings
on the website

Stevenson. He is ably managed this year by Committee vice chair
and full colour magazine supremo Jane Aitchison.
Mary Flora Conner
is the new girl on the block bringing youth and enthusiasm to
an increasingly grumpy old team.
If that wasn't enough,
Scottish Communications Award winner Robert McCombe has been
set loose on us by his branch for the first time.
Fashionably young
for a veteran team co-rdinator, Morag Stevenson will be running
the production area. Other Committee members will also be lending
a hand throughout the week.
It really is hard
work on the briefing team and members are often still at Conference
long after you have all again failed in the promise of a quiet
night. Thanks
to them all and thanks to their branches for their help.
