Scottish Young Members’ Training Weekend – Friday 28 to Sunday 30 March 2008

A training weekend for Scottish Young Members will take place from 6 p.m. on Friday 28 to Sunday 30 March 2008 in Glasgow (venue to be announced). Each branch is invited to send up to six young members aged 26 and under. The cost of this weekend is £150 per delegate and branches are also responsible for travel and subsistence costs which should be paid directly to the delegates. Scottish Young Members’ Committee – Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of the Scottish Young Members’ Committee will take place on Sunday 30 March 2008 at 1.00 p.m. after the last session of the training weekend. Elections will be held at the meeting for Committee members for 2008. Each branch is entitled to make up to two nominations and these must be in the ratio of one male to one female. STUC Youth Conference - Salutation Hotel, Perth 28-29 June 2008

The Annual General Meeting will elect our delegation to the STUC Youth Conference which will take place from 28 to 29 June 2008. Each branch is entitled to make two nominations in the ratio of one male to one female. (Click here for a form in respect of your nominations. Word format)

National Young Members’ Weekend – Crown Plaza Hotel, Glasgow, 9-11 May 2008

A weekend event for young members in UNISON to be held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Glasgow from 9-11 May 2008. Scotland is entitled to send up to ten delegates and the Scottish Young Members’ Committee is very keen to ensure that we are fully represented. Travel costs will be met by HQ and the delegate/accommodation fee is met by the Region. Your branch may nominate up to two delegates in the ratio of one male to one female and delegates must be 26 years of age and under. (Click here for a form in respect of each nomination. I would be grateful if you could bring this information to the attention of all young members in your branch and ensure that all relevant forms are completed and returned to me by Friday 21 March 2008 in order that final arrangements can be made. Please include cheques where applicable, payable to "UNISON Scotland".
