Decent housing should be a right for every individual in society and this could do much to improve health, social mobility and community regeneration, said a motion from UCATT and Midlothian TUC.

Supporting the motion, UNISON's Sandra Kennie underlined that the STUC will campaign for the Scottish Government to invest in quality, affordable council housing as a national priority.

The government should ensure that contractors guarantee full employment rights for their workers in lie with the Geeen Skills agenda.
