Tell a pal

Don't just tell a councillor - Tell a Pal too: Click here to Tell a Pal that Public Works: We don't need cuts - There is a Better Way
1 Cuts ruin lives
Cuts mean less care services, poorer schools, fewer libraries and dirtier streets. Cuts make all of our lives more difficult.
2 Services need staff - staff need services
Local government provides quality of life for all of us, every day. There’s nothing efficient about providing worse services with fewer staff. The council should set a budget based on local need, not government dictat
3 Less jobs mean people have less money to spend
There will be a knock on effect from public sector job losses. For every £1 spent by a public service worker, 70p goes back into the local community.
4 We can easily afford public services if everyone pays their fair share
The council tax freeze benefits the wealthy and means councils are increasing charges which hit those on low incomes hardest.
