Renfrewshire rejects housing stock transfer as UNISON pledges continuing support

Renfrewshire tenants have rejected housing stock transfer by a narrow majority of 36 votes. This follows Stirling tenant's rejection just last week.

Mark Ferguson, branch secretary of UNISON's Renfrewshire Branch welcomed the decision and pledged the union's commitment to tenants.

"We always said we would fight alongside them to get direct funding and to get the Scottish Executive to change its policy. We will continue that fight", he said.
