New UNISON LGBT members' discussion boards
I have now created two discussion groups on the Equality Network
website. One is for Committee members only and should be used for
posting topics relating to Committee business - possible agenda
items, comment on agenda items, details of work in progress etc.
This will allow people to participate even if they cannot attend
meetings.
The other is for all UNISON LGBT members and should be used for
more general topics of discussion, information etc.
The website is http://www.equality-network.org
and you should click on Community/Boards.
The UNISON groups are under Local LGBT groups http://www.equality-network.invisionzone.com/
Or
CLICK HERE go directly to the groups
It should only take you a couple of minutes to register with a
valid email address. Once you have done this, please let me know
your username so I can allocate privileges. Once you are set up,
all you have to do is start posting. Elaine Duffy UNISON Scotland

Ending discrimination - the work begins here
UNISON welcomes the long-awaited confirmation from the government
that there will be no exemption for faith-based adoption agencies
in new regulations banning discrimination in goods, facilities and
services on grounds of sexual orientation. http://www.unison.org.uk/file/Regs%20announce%20web%20text.doc
UNISON advice on workforce monitoring
There is a new UNISON equalities factsheet on what to do if your
employer wants to introduce monitoring of people's sexual orientation
or gender identity. This factsheet sets out how you can turn this
into a bargaining opportunity and win some real gains for LGBT equality.

This two-page guide advises members how to access LGBT information
from UNISON. You can print off copies for branch use, as a resource
for colleagues attending employer diversity training, or maybe to
distribute at your local Pride events! http://www.unison.org.uk/file/206.doc
