Are you wondering why you’re being asked all these
questions?
If you answered yes to any of these questions
then consider becoming a UNISON Lifelong Learning Adviser
– A WHAT?
The role of the Lifelong Learning Adviser
in UNISON is a new one. You can help a little or a lot.
Encourage people to take up training, for example, join
a Return 2 Learn course.
Support colleagues who want to learn but think they’re
too old, too thick, too anything.
Find out what training is available or needed, what
skills people would like to develop – from computing to
calligraphy, from French to Feng Shui.
A Lifelong Learning Adviser can’t guarantee
time off or money to help you follow your dream but once
trained they’ll know who to ask and how to ask and with
the support of the local UNISON branch committee behind
them, LLAs will be a force to be reckoned with. Health and
Safety Reps have made the workforce safer, Lifelong Learning
Advisers can make the workforce smarter!
UNISON is offering Lifelong Learning Adviser
training on the following dates and places:-
8 - 10 December in Belford Road, Edinburgh
24 - 26 November in Resource Centre,
Fitzroy Place, Glasgow
The course lasts 2 and1/2 days (non-residential),
